Q: How Is Paint Protection Film Maintained?
A:   Once applied, do not wash the vehicle in an automatic car wash for at least 24 hours.   After 24 hours, PPF was created to be treated as you would vehicle paint.

 

Q:  Can I Use Wax over Paint Protection Film?
A:  Yes, when waxing the vehicle, some wax build up may occur along the film edges.  This can easily be removed with a dry soft cloth.  Do not use any waxes containing dyes.  Abrasives polishes and rubbing compounds are not to be used.

 

Q:  Can Paint Protection Film be removed?
A:  Yes, if desired, the film can be removed at any time.

 

Q:  Can Paint Protection Film be applied over graphics?
A:  Yes, PPF will not interfere with vinyl or painted graphics.  However, if PPF is removed from graphics, damage may occur to the underlying graphic during removal.

 

Q:  Can PPF be used on headlights, fog lights or windshields?

Q:  Does the film resist yellowing?
A:  Yes, it does resist yellowing.

 

Q:  Can PPF be applied over touch up paint?
A:  Yes, we recommend that any repainted surface be professionally painted and fully cured for at least 30 days before applying PPF.

Q:  Will accident insurance cover replacement?
A:  Yes, PPF is recognized by the accident insurance industry as a pre-loss condition product.

 

Q:  What areas of the vehicle can have PPF applied for protection?
A:  Almost any painted surface on the exterior of the vehicle can be protected with PPF.   Pre-cut kits are available for:  Hood, Fender, Mirror & Bumper Kits.  Kits may also be available for:  Door Handle cups, top of rear bumper, rocker panel & doorsills.  Door Edge Guard is available in rolls.  Any area that does not have a pre-cut kit available may be free cut. 

 

Q:   Will PPF harm the painted surface if the film is removed?
A:  No, if the film is properly applied to fully cured paint, it can be removed, usually in one piece, without damaging the paint beneath the surface.

 

Q:  Is there a warranty?
A:  Yes, 3M offers a 5 year warranty against peeling, cracking and yellowing.  VentureShield offers a lifetime warranty against cracking, bubbling or yellowing .  Each has a warranty card that offers full details.

A:  The car may be cleaned and maintained normally  3M makes a variety of products to help maintain the beauty of your vehicle:  Car Wash Soap; Show Car Past Wax; Perfect-It Show Car Liquid Wax; Perfect-If micro fiber Detailing Cloth.
